Tuesday Tunes

I finished all my finals, and all I have left to do is...nothing! Nothing but sleep, and get as much time in with my friends before they leave. I pretty much spent the past week listening to certain songs on repeat while trying to focus. One of them, which gets to be today's featured music, was "Past Lives" by Ke$ha. It's not really a homework-y song, but sometimes it's just nice to listen to something a little different from my standard homework fare of "screw everyone".

What's your current favorite music?

  1. Sometimes I think listening to Ke$ha is fun. I don't really think I have any current favorite music. I have been meaning to sit down and down load some new iTunes but just haven't had the time yet.

    1. I find it fun almost always, but then again, I'm also nineteen and am making up for around a decade of being a repressed extrovert, so I tend to be in environments where it'll really suck to not like Ke$ha. I really genuinely do like her, though, and I kind of admire her too - she's really intelligent and interesting. I do need to find myself some actual new music too - my general rule is that I listen to anything if someone tells me to, but I don't generally seek it out, but I'm kind of getting tired of that, even if I can comfortably listen to, say, Gangam Style on repeat for a week straight. It's nice to find new things, after all. Just another summer goal... Good luck finding some time!

  2. ok, so I'm not going to go follow me yay but anyways I have a link in the end of this comment. Anyways, my jam right now would be "Young&Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey, "Over The Love" by Florence&The Machine, and several songs from Little Mix. "Past Lives" would be one of my most favorite Ke$ha songs, I absolutely love the love story behind it and the reinterpretations, I actually was inspired to write something about Past Live lovers from the song. Anyways, what's your "screw y'all" homework songs? anyways my finals(well more like IGCSE exams) will start today (crap right)

    1. I don't mind links, I just get really upset when someone just goes "Great post! Follow me!" It's a little annoying, because...I mean, you're taking the time to click over to someone's blog to not even say anything but a super-generic comment. Music... I totally love Young and Beautiful (that was my song last week, actually), and I love Florence&The Machine. That's really cool you've been writing about Past Lives stuff - the song makes me want to write too, it just presents such lovely imagery. My "screw y'all" homework songs include "I Love It" by Icona Pop...and are honestly pretty much just that song, played on repeat, for hours on end. I'm lucky my roommate and floormates tolerate(d) me when I get fixated on a song... I suppose some of the Florence songs I listen to count as "screw y'all" songs, as would some of the songs by The Belle Brigade and The Civil Wars, and the mental associations I have for the song Now Is The Start by A Fine Frenzy mean that it might as well be a "screw you" song... Good luck with everything!

  5. Hey Sue! Congrats on finishing your finals, that must be such a good feeling and I hope you catch up on your sleep. I hadn't seen this video yet by Kesha and I know people hate on her sometimes but I love all her songs!

    Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Thank you! It is! And I'm so far doing a wonderful job on catching up on my sleep during the day. I should probably work on that... Yeah, people do hate on her a lot, but she's quite fantastic, if they'd just take the time to glance beyond the way-hyped party/sex/glitter songs (though those songs are also fantastic).

    1. Thank you! It is a wonderful feeling. Probably the only thing that negates it at all is the sadness from missing friends as they leave...

HI! Please read this before you comment!

I love to hear from my readers and those new to my blog (feel free to url-drop if you need to)! Interacting with people can be so inspiring. PLEASE DON'T leave me just "FOLLOW MY BLOG" messages that you copypasta on dozens of blogs - I follow blogs when I feel inspired by their content, and I try to show it by actively commenting on the content they've generated. I will delete these responses, because they make me extremely uncomfortable. (Yes, I'm aware that's pretty odd... I'm sorry).

That said, I hope you have a lovely day!
