Ladylike

I've worn so many dresses and skirts lately, it's really impressive. Especially after the years of being anti-skirt! It's kind of...amazing. I've found one makeup thing that I can manage to do semi-regularly - bold, filled-in brows, every day (up until I lost my eyeliner pencil for that... Motivation to clean up the mess sometimes known as my floor). Everything is, as I've mentioned, a mess because of graduation. There are parties right and left and on towards the second star to the right, dozens of job applications needing to be filled out (in internet speak: gbjnhrjneknjibneji), regularly scheduled panic attacks about "oh no I'm an adult now how do you adult!?", etc. All these pictures, by the way, are of before I cut my hair. We'll get to post-cut pictures soon enough...

I wore this to my Government class' trip to jail and court a while back. It was a fascinating trip - jails now are so different from what you see on TV and in books, it's amazing, courtrooms are actually really boring. (Seriously, courtrooms are the most boring place on the planet... I fell asleep three times in there, until the bailiff woke me up, and I was nowhere close to the only one). I'm definitely not interested in working in law after that visit - probably a good thing to know what it's really like, since I had been contemplating that as a potential thing. I also wore this outfit about a week ago, visiting my grandmother in Arkansas at the hospital she has been stuck at for bronchitis for quite a while. Happily, she started recovering shortly after we visited, so hopefully we'll manage to see her at her house this summer before I go off to college!

I do not remember what I wore the following outfit for, but I found it in my picture files and went "wait what OH MY GOSH". I'm a fan of scarfs as belts, definitely...

Look at how absolutely white my back is... Just stare at how blinding it is. That is why I don't wear bikinis, people!

Finally, a look from one of the numerous graduation parties I've been attending lately. (If you want an idea of the numbers without making my tired brain attempt to count...well, it's been enough that I actually forgot to get pictures of the one I went to today...not that it was great, as I got the time mixed up with one of the ones later this week, and had to get into something appropriate for a party instead of yard work... People with good phones, here's a tip - use alerts on your calendar, it's a life-saver and keeps you from being unintentionally rude to your friends!) Anyhow, the theme of this party was "English Tea Party" and we were under strict orders to wear hats. I happily obliged!

I'm Out of Here!

...but only for this week. I'll be back next Monday - April 2nd, my friends. This week is being spent in a frenzy of homework and packing and rehearsals, all for ISAS, the fine arts festival my school goes to every year. So I have to figure out outfits, squeeze in my costume from Little Shop of Horrors and my choir uniform. At least I already have a show appropriate manicure... ;) Neon green sound good for a show about (spoiler) being eaten by a giant plant?

Anyhow, next week will include a flurry of updates, because, you know, I pretty much only ever get outfits, nails, and pinterest faves up. Sigh. I should probably actually learn how to really blog someday... Oh well.

See you next month!

ps: I will still be on pinterest, unless we don't have internet at Greenhill, the host school this year...

Panda Hat!

Yeah...I really did spend about forty bucks on panda hats in Portland... I regret nothing. :|

I'll try to get to the outfit posts tomorrow, but no guarantees. Jetlag and homework may decide to interfere.

Nails

Despite not managing a second post last week (fail!) I do have my nails for you. I had fun with them.

I used the "Gold" and "Nude" polishes from Forever 21. I like the F21 polishes because...they're cheap. Yup. I'm pretty simply, there.

When I dredge up the effort to take this polish off and do something else, I might try another pattern of some sort.

shiny shiny

I don't know why, but as we're heading into fall, I have an absolute obsession with crescent moon necklaces.
From here.

From here.
From here.
I showed a picture of it already, but I ~kind of~ made something similar to this last one, from an earring. To refresh your memory of it...it's the necklace in this picture:
Which became this...
(Like my hair? Trying a darker red that looks better with light.)
Still need to figure out what to do with the mate of that earring...I may just glue it to some ribbon and prance around pretending to be Sailor Moon (because I have a short uniform skirt and have yet to grow up) for the heck of it. But any ideas are quite welcome!

And now I'm going to hunt for some other crescent moon necklaces...we'll see if I manage to find any.

30 for 30 Challenge: Day Eleven and Day Twelve

Sorry for no posts yesterday! I didn't have time to do more than take pictures the day before, or for most of yesterday. Sigh. At least I have a good excuse for why I couldn't get anything done yesterday.

Poor puppy had to have shots so she can stay at Petsmart while we go to Cali. Don't feel sorry for her, though. She hates cars, and hates city areas.

Also, guys, I'm an idiot. I seriously should not have been shopping last weekend...I shoulda been shopping this weekend! -facepalm- How could I forget about fourth of july sales? Well, live and learn, but still. Totally facepalm worthy.

Dress - Forever 21 | Shoes - Image

This dress is far too comfy. So are the shoes.

Tank - Wet Seal | Shorts - H&M | Flip-flops - Forever 21

Admittedly, this was more of a 'I'm stuck in the horrible heat of Texas let's try not to die' outfit. Because I was outside quite a bit of the day, with the puppy.

Hopefully my posts tomorrow will actually get up on time. This one would have been done last night, had Blogger not somehow scrambled its brains and died on me. :<

Welcome to the Disaster

...or, as I call it, my bedroom. There are no before pictures, because I don't think anyone wants to see them.

First up, handling the shoes that had been starting to spill off the edges of my shoe racks. Solution? Pretty-ify a shoe box and stick it to the wall, stuff flats in. Hopefully I'll find a sturdier solution later, but for now, I'm not handling an avalanche of shoes.

Then, handling jewelry for each day (since I'm, y'know, trying to wear it). I tacked an old jewelry box to the wall (jee, I like these things...) to dump it in.

My next task included cleaning the area around and under my couch and work table, during which I rediscovered several magazines and an old binder taken from the trash at my mom's old job (who throws out a perfectly good enormous binder like this?? WHO?). Rediscovering old drawings of mine was fun, but the slightly over-sized untouched paper within sparked the idea of gluing on pictures of inspiration to me. From those magazines, of course. (I also discovered my new long-haired favorite. Jane Seymour is amazingly gorgeous!)

And some weird folding produced a paper clutch-thing? I have NO clue what to do with it. But I did glue a lock shaped button onto it. I'll...figure something out.

And more things're going to get finished up too, soon. ;)

30 for 30 Challenge: Day Five, plus a really odd skirt

Today I got a package in the mail from one of my aunts to reveal:
a note, and a college guide for B students. Yay...

and the most bizarre skirt I've ever laid eyes on. Apparently it's 'Ben Sherman'. I don't know where my aunt found it, but man is this skirt busy. And it doesn't look like anything I've found online by Ben Sherman.

Shirt - senior party (thrown on because my VBS shirt is in the wash) | Skirt - Ben Sherman, via aunt | Flats - Payless

...ignoring the fact that I look awful in all these pictures... Is this not a weird skirt? Does anyone like it? Or is anyone able to think of anything I could do with it? Cuz I need ideas!

And this is my non-VBS attire for the day!

This is called 'my entire body hurts and I don't want to be putting much effort into this, though I still have to look fancy-ish since I'm going out tonight. Not to mention, I don't want people to be staring at the now many cuts and bruises on my legs and arms. M and I having to see them is bad enough. (Account is now something like twenty bug bites, seven large cuts, and nine bruises - most from being up in a castle with puppets for close to five hours the past three days, one from my cat, and a few others from being distracted and walking into a wall. But we really do need to cover up the open wood in the castle). Though, somehow, M has none. I'm pretty sure anyone seeing me up close right now would think I was being abused. xD; "ARE YOU BEING ABUSED?" "...no. I'm just horribly clumsy, my blood is catnip for bugs, the wood I spend a ton of time on is very splintery, and my cats can't retract their claws..." But I digress. XD
