wool coats

It's been a long time since there's been a Bloggers Do It Better challenge, and this lined up with Cleveland's "lovely" weather - wool coats, right in time for the first snow. (IT'S ONLY OCTOBER, COME ON CLEVELAND).  Literally, I'm pretty sure I read the challenge after I got dressed on Wednesday.

For clarification, this is what we looked like on Wednesday:

It was nuts, because we had thunderhail (and a guy at the RTA rapping about the thunderhail, but that's a different story), and thundersnow, and thundersleet, as well as just old-fashioned thunderstorms.  A very good day for warm coats and umbrellas...

Also, can I just say, I took these pictures like right after eating wayyyy too much food...  It was a bad idea.  Such a bad idea.  I pretty much went to bed straight after this, honestly.

Winter isn't just coming y'all.  It's here.  Now go check out the linkup to see what other people did!

Happy Valentines' Day!

In honor of this, there is first a Bloggers Do It Better challenge, and then, via the magic of pinterest, a Hunger Games Valentines card.

Blazer - thrifted | Skirt-dress - TJ Maxx | Purse - R21 | Tights/belt - F21 | Shoes - Payless

I wore this on Sunday, and loved it. Wearing this skirt as a dress makes me happy because of how swingy it is. It's sososo fun to wear. Anyhow, this week is INSANE, now that it's the week of the musical. We had six hours of rehearsal yesterday!

As promised, a Hunger Games Valentine. :) Enjoy!

Animal Side

This is indeed for BDIBAnimal Instinct. I guess I should start by saying I'm not actually a fan of animal prints? I was heavily into them back when my brother was married, because I idolized his then-wife, who I vividly remember wore leopard-print everything. So I have a bunch of animal-print scarves laying around... All my other stuff got dumped ages ago because it was too small/too ugly.

Is it fashion blogger blasphemy that I dislike animal prints? Because I really do. I'm sorry, I just...can't stand them these days, and I have no idea why. Maybe I'll overcome it like I overcame the floral hate...wearing it with only black is a step in that direction, I think.

Oh well! They generally look okay with all-black.
(I need to take the LLL shirt in...it's a medium, I think, but it's huge on me... add it to the to-do list).

BDIB: Neon + Neutrals

...and look, it handily doubles with my finally-shot graduation outfit. Heck yes!

Challenge is here.

Hooopefully the black counts as being as neutral as the heels.

I love this dress because it emphasizes my curves, but does so in a way that makes them look good.

Prep School!

Okay, so BDIB time! (Button in sidebar!) The theme's Prep School. I spent too much time agonizing, rather than PreCal homework (yeah...) I finally came to a weird compromise of what I had and what I needed. I like the way the short-sleeved jacket worked with the longer-sleeved oxford. The last time I liked that jacket was when I got it for Confirmation at fourteen. After that, I started hating it. I think I may just like it again now. And the shoes - they hurt like hell, but I love them to death.

I would now like to register that I hate trying to post and arrange pictures on Blogger. In the meantime, yay, this worked! It was fun to play with, though I doubt I'll wear something like this as a normal every-day kinda thing, but it was fun.
