Oscars!

I didn't watch the Oscars, I confess. I don't really care too much to see it - I'm not a big fan of watching awards shows, and anyways, I'm drowning in homework. (DROWNING I TELL YOU, DROWNING! okay, melodrama over). Still, I caught a few glimpses whenever I took a break from work, and there were definitely some people who really stunned.

My picks for best dressed are definitely...

I went to get ice cream late last night and saw Halle on screen in our lobby and wow. She was beyond gorgeous in this dress.

Charlize Theron's been one of my favorite actresses since I saw Aeon Flux and fell in love with her hair and voice. Still, I don't really follow people's careers much. I don't know what she was on the carpet for, but she definitely wins for looking absolutely gorgeous.

Amanda Seyfried is just absolutely beautiful, and while I do generally like bolder gowns, this one was a lovely choice for her.

Kristin Chenoweth was, overall, my favorite for the night. She had an absolutely gorgeous gown, and looked absolutely fantastic.

Finally, let's just talk about how absolutely adorable Quvezhané Wallis is, alright? She has a puppy purse, and the puppy is dressed up too.

Grammy's

I know, I know, I should've done this YESTERDAY. Unfortunately, I knew I needed to save a quick and easy post for today because I had too much to get done yesterday. Still, might as well talk about the Grammy's, because some of the clothes were absolutely fabulous. (Actually, most of them were - I think there were one or two dresses I saw where I just marveled at their existence, but hey, there were fewer "...why?"s than when I go to Forever21 and find completely sheer dress after completely sheer dress - I love F21, but man, why so much sheer?)

My favorite looks of the night were definitely Rihanna, Janelle Monae, and Taylor Swift. They just nailed everything about their looks. That said, we're not going to talk about Taylor Swift's childish jab at her ex during her performance. If I ever feel like discussing my extremely complicated feelings about Taylor Swift, though, I'll give it to you in a post, promise. In the meantime, the clothes!

The red is absolutely gorgeous, and the sheer on this dress works well without being too much or awkward.

Can I just say that women in really pretty menswear-inspired stuff are one of my biggest weaknesses? I pretty much just quietly observe Janelle Monae's fashion and grin like an idiot every time I see something like this. Absolutely gorgeous.

I don't know how long I have to see Taylor Swift wearing white, plunging neckline dresses before I'll be bored, but it hasn't happened yet. I was a little "meh" about the silver accents at first, but they've been growing on me since.

Best Dressed: Academy of Country Music Awards

I typically adore peering at snaps from the red carpet and ooh-ing over the gorgeous dresses and shoes. Buuuut this awards show, the clothes just didn't do it very well. I honestly could only find three dresses I liked, period. Or rather, I liked most of the dresses, I just thought they were all wrong for the people wearing them. Oh well! I guess this made it easier to compile a best dressed list, right?

Carrie Underwood was basically perfect. Definitely the best dressed at the whole event, though I can't say I'm such a fan of the Angelina look. At least she isn't doing the leg thrust - it looks like the dress just falls that way.

Grammy's: Best Dressed

As basically everyone knows, the Grammy's were on last Sunday night. It took over Twitter then, certainly. I didn't watch them (no TV being the main issue...) I have to admit, my favorite piece of the night was Nicki Minaj and the fake Pope, because why not?

Best-dressed of the night, so far as I am concerned, was definitely Mika Newton. She was beyond gorgeous, and I'm in love with everything about her dress.

Next-best was Kelly Rowland. It's funny, because I actually don't like the dress itself. But the way she wore it...it's gorgeous, primarily because she is.

And third up was Adele. She did great on the awards front, definitely. I'm not such a fan of the blonde hair, but she looked lovely.

SAG Awards: Best Dressed

I sincerely meant to do this yesterday, before everything horrible happened with my darling. As it is, I still feel terrible, but... I'm not exactly going to feel any better by continuing to sob my eyes out. Anyhow, here are my top two "Best Dressed" from the SAG Awards. I won't do a "Worst Dressed", not now, not ever, because it feels extremely petty to pick on something like that. I'd rather celebrate the good than dwell on the bad.

Viola Davis is definitely my number one! This white Marchesa gown is absolutely gorgeous on her, and the detail up top is super lovely, especially with the asymmetry going on with it.

Ariel Winter is such a stylish girl! I've absolutely adored her since the first time I saw her picture (seriously, I don't watch Modern Family - it sounds great, but I'm not much of a TV girl (a discussion for another time)). Point blank, she's super cute, and...so is her clothing. I know, I hate this length of skirt/dress. But Ariel pulls it off, somehow, and looks absolutely great. This Collette Dinnigan dress looks like it'd be hard for most people, but seriously, she killed it. (ps; Can I have her as my little sister for a day?)
